Uniting - Where I Belong
This was one of the most powerful and personally meaningful projects of my career.
Uniting wanted to show the true breadth of their work across the community. But rather than tell people, we set out to show it through genuine human connection. Over several months, I met dozens of people whose lives had crossed paths with Uniting in deeply different ways. I spent time with them, getting to know their stories, and then paired individuals whose experiences could illuminate and complement one another.
We filmed ten conversations between strangers who shared far more than they expected. From quiet humour to heartbreak to surprising moments of shared understanding, these were raw, intimate dialogues. We kept the filmmaking understated and observational, capturing the authenticity of real human connection rather than imposing a scripted narrative.
These films are among the work I’m most proud of. They’re a reminder that everyone carries unseen stories, and that empathy can bridge the widest divides.
The project was awarded at D&AD for casting, recognising how crucial those real-life pairings were to bringing the campaign’s vision to life.
